The lighthouse on the Petelin cape indicates the shoal. It is located on the city beach of Izola, where you can enjoy beautiful views of the open sea and the Alps. In Izola, they mention the lighthouse on the Petelin cape (Punta del Gallo) on the Rocks of St. Peter. It was mounted on a wooden platform. It was equipped with a constant white and red light. The white light glowed from southwest to northeast, and the red light from northeast toward the port interior. In Koper, the lighthouse on the "prison pier" (sulla testa del molo delle gallere - is meant the mighty building of Austrian prisons ) is listed and started operating in 1876. In early 19.century two lighthouses on wooden beams were installed out of town offshore.
